School Requirements

To work in the operating room one much only need  an associates degree as an R.N. However although you only need an associates degree it is encouraged to become a C.O.R.N., which stands for certified operating room nurse. It takes 2 years and 2,400 hours to complete the program, and a test at the end. It is not necessary to have your certificate to work in the operating room however it is encouraged just because it looks better and you are more likely to get hired if you are certified.
